The opening of the brand new A1 Sporting Memorabilia warehouse this week was made even more special by the presence of an English football legend at the first ever signing in our new home.
Southampton icon Matt le Tissier was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon at our new digs in Christchurch and soon after he sat down to sign a range of memorabilia chronicling his marvellous career.
The definition of a one-club man, ‘Le God’ made 540 appearances for the Saints, scoring 209 goals in the process. He was also an idol to FC Barcelona legend Xavi, who recently admitted to an “obsession” with the Englishman’s “sickening” goals.
Now a popular pundit with Sky Sports, Matt was on good form as he added his distinctive signature to our shirts, photos, boots and balls. Giving his thoughts on the upcoming FIFA World Cup – and the Premier League season on the horizon – Matt laughed and joked with our dedicated signing team, who were there to ensure our range was getting only the highest quality of signatures.
With authentic retro shirts difficult to come by, we endeavoured to find only the very best items available to us for Matt to sign. Thus, our range comprises modern Southampton shirts, replica Puma boots and a selection of prints that capture Matt’s most memorable moments in red and white.

Matt Le Tissier dedicated a special shirt to the staff of A1 and sister brand Icons.
